(Full-Time Position) The Lead Teacher is responsible for implementing the curriculum and facilitating the daily activities in the classroom including the supervision and management of children in the classroom. He or she must be knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices to collaborate with and/or supervise teachers as required by the Executive Director.

Qualifications Desired: A minimum of 1-2 years experience in the field of childcare and/or a CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Classroom teaching experience is a plus. Must meet all requirements stipulated by the State for this position. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs, sit on the floor, and interact with children.

Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs, sit on the floor, and interact with children.

(Part-Time Position) The Kitchen Manager/Cook is responsible for maintaining all activities regarding the facility’s kitchen including menu planning, stock rotation, food and beverage prep, food delivery/pickup, daily sanitation, and all other duties as assigned that meet current federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations for health, sanitation, and nutrition at all times.

Qualifications Desired: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen environment AND have received a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.), AND have a current Food Manager’s Certificate. He or she must have the physical stamina to perform all the requirements of this position. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

(Part-Time Position) The Center Floater is responsible for supporting a classroom teacher of any classroom with the general supervision and management of children. He or she must be knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices; have flexible hours that cover the needs of the center and ensure activities and curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director.

Qualifications Desired: Must be at least 18 years of age AND have received a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.). Previous experience in the field of childcare is preferred but not required. Must meet all requirements stipulated by the State for this position. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs, sit on the floor, and interact with children.

(Part-Time Position) The After School Teacher is responsible for the planning and facilitation of daily activities, preparing learning materials, and helping students with homework, such as reading, writing, and math.

Qualifications Desired: A bachelor’s degree in teaching, early childhood education, or a similar field OR a minimum of 2 years experience working as an after-school teacher, teaching assistant, or a similar role. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

(Flexible Position/Ongoing Pool) The Substitute Teacher is responsible for supporting a classroom teacher of any classroom with the general supervision and management of children. He or she must be knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices; have flexible hours that cover the needs of the center and ensure activities and curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director.

(Volunteer or Internship Position) The After School Tutor provides after-school tutoring for our school-aged children up to age 12, either in a group or one-on-one setting. This is a perfect volunteering opportunity for junior- or senior-level high school and college students with a commitment to community service.

Qualifications Desired: Must be at least 16 years of age AND must meet all requirements stipulated by the State for this position. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs, sit on the floor, and interact with children. Must have reliable transportation to and from Vertical Kids.
